Clingmans Dome
Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The hike from the parking lot is a short paved walk, but it is steep so it will take a few minutes to get to the top of the mountain. Then you can head up to the observation tower that gives you a spectacular view above the tree line to see for miles and miles.
I have been here a couple of times but each time it is fantastic. The beauty of the Smoky Mountains is amazing and something that everyone should see in their lifetime. Do not pass up the chance to hike the many tails the park has to offer. Especially since this is the only National Park without and admittance fee.
Be sure you dress warm when you head to the top, as it will be 10-20 degrees cooler at the top than it is in the lower surrounding areas. Also on the observation tower there is not much to block the wind.
I hope everyone likes the pictures.
